Maybe it just wasn’t my year and I don’t say this lightly because this is the circumstances that have occurred: the last post I hadn’t made yesterday is because my air-conditioning died. And since we’re on the subject of dying, My husband’s stepdad on his mother’s side passed away this past Sunday. Then two days ago his stepmom’s dad, on his dad side (the mom that raised him) died. So if you can follow that three people passed away all on my husband’s side of the family.
Okay, enough of being morbid. Let’s get into the creative side of verbs. You know those action one ‘s that we like to use in writing.
Creative Writing Tips on Action Verbs #5: Powerful Verbs Are Concise and Precise.
Be as concise as possible; prefer the single verb to the roundabout phrase.
Do not say:
He did not remember to feed the dog.
She did not pass the music exam.
Say instead:
He forgot to feed the dog.
She failed the music exam.
